Around 700 Australians are told they have mesothelioma each year – an aggressive cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.

The diagnosis is heartbreaking enough, but many also face bills of up to $130,000 for treatment.

Now, those eye-watering costs will disappear, with two drugs being added to the pharmaceutical benefits scheme.
