 Living In Fear Of Mesothelioma

First of all, you may be wondering what mesothelioma is, and why I should be spooked of it? ….

Mesothelioma is the medical name for cancer of the lung, and is generally caused by exposure to asbestos. Symptoms my not appear for over to 50 times or so after exposure to asbestos, and people who have n’t had any contact with asbestos for numerous times, are now showing signs of having this deadly complaint. The symptoms are generally briefness of breath, coughing, and casket pains and feeling veritably tired.

Living In Fear Of Mesothelioma

Why should I be spooked of it?

As a small child, I used to live near a plant which used asbestos to make fire- evidence products and other separating accoutrements for the structure assiduity. I believe that asbestos was also used in the manufacture of break stuffings. I can remember seeing the asbestos dust that spewed out of the plant covering the girding area ( including part of our academy playground) with this deadly snow like greasepaint. Of course, as we were just kiddies at that time, we had absolutely no idea just how deadly this dust was. We indeed played in it fully ignorant of its troubles.

The Horror Came Latterly.

It was n’t until times latterly after the plant had been closed down, that we began to see the full horrors of this white snow looking greasepaint, we had played with as children. By this time I was much aged, and the troubles of asbestos had been given massive content by the media, so I was now apprehensive of what could be to myself and hundreds of other people who lived in the same area as this plant in times to come.

Television Talkie.

This plant entered public TV content, and on one program they canvassed families who had suffered due to the problem of asbestos. I was shocked to see that I knew some of the people who had lost family members due to developing mesothelioma, in fact I actually went to academy with some of the people who took part in the program. The program showed old photos of the area around the plant ( including my old academy) covered in greasepaint, and it really did look like it had been decolorizing. When you see all of this on TV it really does make you just a little bit upset, especially when you have been in contact with asbestos like I have.

Treatments.

Still, a cure is possible with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, If mesothelioma is diagnosed beforehand enough. Still, in the case of a more advanced illness a cure isn't possible, but with the right treatments the illness can be braked down dramatically and drug can be used to ease any pain.

X-Rays.

As a palladium I did havex-rays a many times ago just to put my mind at rest, and thankfully they were all clear. The croaker recommended that I should havex-rays on a veritably regular base just to be on the safe side. So, at the moment everything is ok, but I'll always be just a little bit upset of what might be in the future.
